In this task, I took an album cover and re-created it. I chose Billy Lockets album as it has a simple ascetic and looked easy enough to re-do.

firstly, I needed an image to put onto the digipak. I went out with my friend Charlotte to look for a good location that was similar to the one in the original. As we live in quite a green area this was easy.
I then went into the editing suite and put filters and layers onto the image. I also added a blur effect to the outside of the image as the original album features this. I had to keep the person in the photo in focus so I cut her out.

Cutting out the subject.

After doing this I then found a website that could almost exactly locate the font in the original digipak. After finding one that looked remarkably similar I then proceeded to download it and play with the sizing to try and get it to match. That was the main alterations I had to do to create the digipak.

what I learnt:
In this task, I expanded my skills and knowledge of Photoshop.I learnt how to use the blur effect and the filters. At first, I found this challenging but towards the end, I found it easy. I also learnt the conventions of an album cover and how to cut out the subject matter of the album cover in order to draw the audiences eye to what I want them to. This task will help me think about what I would want to include on my digipak front cover.
